Oord, Lodewijk van. Albrecht en wij.

Albrecht en wij is a Dutch novel about the zoo director of the ARTIS Royal Zoo in Amsterdam who attempts to turn the extinction of the last living rhinoceros in the world, Albrecht, into a commercial zoo-spectacle. The satirical narrative questions what kinds of relationships between humans and animals are actually established in the zoo and shows how the institutional principles of the zoo as a capitalist venue of entertainment may inform their efforts of conservation.
